Minutes : Port Jefferson Station and Terryville Civic Association  February 26, 2014

Ex board members present: Charlie McAteer, Ed Garboski, Diane Lenihan Lou Antoniello, Joan Nickeson Frank Gibbons Howard Aaron

Suspension of regular business-

Ed- read the election slate for next month:  All incumbents are running unchallenged and asked for nominations from the floor.

Motion to close nominations, by Frank, seconded by Howard.

Ed recognized Valerie Cartright- councilwoman’s presence at tonight’s meeting.  Ed called up Steve Fiore-Rosenfeld; Civic Association and Jack Smith of Cumsewogue Historical Society presented plaques for years of service with many thanks.

  • Presentation by UHall- for Route 112- Michael Nadraus Marketing Co. President, Nick Marra, District VP , Danielle Squerra –G.M.

  • U Hall will provide 10-15 full and part time jobs with full benefits.

  • There was concern about the orange bay doors, large trucks, coordination with design plans for the PJS Commercial Hub study.

     

  • Enterprise:  Eric Schoenhoff and Jackie Ortiz

  • They have worked with the Civic and Design of Commercial Hub study to reflect the Main Street vision.

  • They work with the community such as Recycled Rides to rehab cars for VFW.

  • Size of the sign is an issue – 3ft by 10ft, and number of signs. Eric and Jackie said they would go back to corporate about the signs.

Reading of January Civic Assoc. Minutes-Motion to accept by Frank, seconded by Rich Meyer.  Reading of exec board minutes- motion to accept by Joan and seconded by Charlie.

Ed contacted Dr. Rella –Comsewogue Schools Superintendent, about getting a student from their Geek Squad to help with our website.

Charlie reminded all about the presentation of the PJS Commercial Hub Study to Town Board on March 4th at 5pm

Committee reports

Traffic- Frank G    no report

Beautification- Joan has contacted the school district to see if there is interest in a seed starter project.

Treasurer- no report

Discussion ensued about Jim Tsunis’ high density proposition: Don Zorros recalls that there are TWO A-1 properties within the Rampone/Jeff Meadows property.
